Hey there dear readers, welcome to the first edition of Pink Ticket Travel, which will hit your inbox every second week. Once you’re here, you can browse around the rest of our stories.
We’ve cooked up something special for you. Our mission is to provide smart, well-researched travel coverage that’s inspirational, entertaining and useful, and to demonstrate that travel can be a positive force for queer and trans communities.
Our promise? We will seek out destinations and experiences that appeal to all the letters in the LGBTQ2S+ acronym. No matter how straight or gay-male-oriented a destination we end up in, we will search for relevant experiences for readers across a spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities.
We’ll be accurate and up-to-date with our coverage, and deliver it with a smile and more than a dollop of sass.
We’ll watch out for your safety. We’ll make you aware of laws, policies and social attitudes that may affect your travels.
We’ll respect and cherish the LGBTQ2S+ communities we visit, and follow their lead in how we celebrate where they live and love, and how we’ll respond to any homophobia and transphobia we might find there.
We’ll pick our battles, expecting more from corporations and established players in the travel and hospitality industry, while nurturing emerging destinations and players that seem eager to grow and learn.
We’ll be transparent about any complimentary travel we receive to do our job. We’ll tell the stories we think readers want to hear, and we’ll never let anyone we cover review our content before you, our readers, see it.
And we’re open to your ideas and experiences. If you want to share something about a place you’ve visited, please tell us. If there are people, places, trends and advice you’re looking to see, please tell us. We want to celebrate the way you travel as we celebrate the communities and experiences that delight you.
For our first outing, we’re taking you to Liverpool, Fort Greene, New York, and Ibiza. Poppy fun, urban cool and sweaty clubs—you’re not going to argue with that, are you?
